Dr. Khalid Osman presented at the LAC Connections Symposium 2026, part of the National Academies’ Connections to Sustain Science in Latin America program. The symposium brought together 80 early- and mid-career researchers from across Latin America and the Caribbean, along with counterparts from the United States and Canada, for a transdisciplinary discussion of cutting-edge research on oceans, the Amazon, resilience to extreme events, AI in the life sciences, and biomedicine. The program helps early-career researchers build networks, develop leadership skills, and pursue research careers in the region.
