Prof. Osman Co-Hosts Successful Building Africa’s Cities Summit

In June 2025, Prof. Osman co-hosted the Building Africa’s Cities Summit (BACS)—a landmark gathering of researchers, practitioners, and policymakers committed to reimagining urban development across the African continent. The summit sparked rich dialogue around equity, resilience, governance, and community-centered design in rapidly urbanizing African cities. With a strong turnout and dynamic cross-sector participation, BACS created a vital space for critical exchange and collaboration. Many attendees described the event as “insightful and extremely informative,” highlighting its value as a platform for both learning and action. The lab is proud to celebrate Prof. Osman's leadership in convening this impactful event, and we look forward to the collaborations and next steps that will emerge from the summit.
