Community-Based Like Diamonds in the Sky

Hearty congratulations to Osman Lab PhD candidate Allisa Hastie for winning the 2025 Kennedy-Diamond Award for Excellence in Community Engaged Learning and Research! The Kennedy-Diamond Graduate Award for Excellence in Community-Engaged Learning and Research recognizes a graduate student who has demonstrated exemplary and mutually-beneficial engagement with the community through teaching or community-based research. This award recognizes students whose research has provided direct benefit to communities and represents the Haas Center’s Principals of Ethical and Effective Service. The Haas Center specifically highlighted her experience working with non-profit environmental justice organizations and across the country and translating research insights into community-facing educational materials. This is a testament to Allisa’s years of engagement with communities across the US to advance water equity, and we could not be more proud!
