SPACES for STEM

Dr. Osman participated in the 2026 NSF ADVANCE SPACES Writing Retreat this past weekend, an initiative dedicated to supporting early-career scholars engaged in community-centered research.

The SPACES program convenes a national network of institutions and leaders committed to advancing equity in STEM and strengthening community-engaged scholarship, particularly for underrepresented researchers. Throughout the retreat, participants devoted focused time to writing, engaged in thoughtful discussions on tenure and promotion, and gained valuable insights into developing competitive NSF CAREER proposals.

SPACES provided an opportunity to join a vibrant community of scholars grounded in collaboration, mentorship, and a shared commitment to research that creates meaningful impact in communities.
