Osman Lab Attends the EWRI 2025 World Environmental & Water Resources Congress in Alaska
Prof. Osman, Aggrey, Allisa, Clara, Sam, and Sina attended the EWRI conference in Anchorage, Alaska, from May 18 to 21, 2025. Allisa shared her insights on non-billed water costs to enhance water affordability assessments, while Sina presented her innovative work on utilizing humans as sensors to monitor tap water quality. Clara showcased her evaluation of green stormwater infrastructure through a community-based participatory research (CBPR) approach. Aggrey discussed his fascinating work on using vision-language models to assess downstream flood risks, and Sam highlighted her mixed methods study aimed at mapping flood risk in unsheltered populations. Allisa also did a wonderful job moderating a session titled “Sustainability in a Changing Climate - II.” After the conference, Osman’s lab attendees relished a scenic hike and were captivated by the stunning beauty of the Alaskan mountains as they enjoyed the lovely summer weather.
