Energy@Stanford and Pathways to Purposeful Careers
Alongside Dr. Osman’s iconic repertoire of seminars on the intersections of infrastructure and justice, he has been a sought-after figure at various student-centered mentorship events over the quarter.
As part of the Fall 2025 Purposeful Careers course at Stanford, he moderated a discussion with Luke Beckman, the Division Disaster State Relations Director at the American Red Cross and Joseph Toland, PhD candidate at Tufts University and former researcher at the United States Geological Survey. The discussion focused on working in public service, bridging research and practice, and the future of disaster resilience collaboration.
Dr. Osman also served as a panelist on energy justice and ethics as a part of the Energy@Stanford course at the Stanford Graduate Summer Institute. Across these events, he emphasized practical pathways into public service and research, and the importance of staying connected to the communities affected by this work.
